The Web Accessibility Initiative is an undertaking by SAINS to ensure that all SAINS designed websites are accessible to people with disabilities. As part of this undertaking, SAINS in collaboration with the Malaysian National Council for the Blind and the Sarawak Society for the Blind has organised and participated in several workshops on web accessibility for both the blind and sighted people and is in the process of ensuring that all SAINS designed sites are accessible. The workshops educate web developers on web accessibility guidelines and teach the blind how to use the web to improve their daily lives. This is an on-going project.

This event is organised annually.

Sekolah Kamek is a pilot project initiated by SAINS and Biro Teknologi Pendidikan Cawangan Sarawak to provide a safe and up to date environment for Sarawak school community websites. A SAINS Dynamic Web System will be offered to select schools with built in tools to keep their site easily up-to-date and filled with colourful content and media. This is an on-going project.
