E-Government Initiatives Conference 2003

ICT Unit of Chief Minister's Department recently organised an e-Government Initiatives Conference as one of the State Government's efforts to create ICT awareness in the State.

The purpose of the conference is to share the latest developments and trends in e-Government initiatives in the world and in Malaysia, with 400 participants attending from senior officers and ICT-related officers (CIOs, ICTSOs, webmasters) from all state agencies.

The conference is also held to deliver current development knowledge to the participants on e-government and to break the existing mental barrier among participants on e-government - a sector that has been steadily and increasingly developing in today's era of technology.

Among others, the conference's objectives are:

  • To appreciate the emergence of e-System in Governance.
  • To understand the State initiatives towards e-Government.
  • To equip participants with the knowledge and attitude to ficilitate the State's e-government initiatives.


Speakers from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur were invited to present their papers on e-government, and complimented by speakers from various related organisations in Kuching.
