Launching of Multimedia Conferencing System (MCS) on SarawakNet

SAINS proudly unveiled her latest EG solution with the soft launching of the Multimedia Conferencing System (MCS) on SarawakNet recently. The State’s Secretary of Sarawak, Y.B. Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato’ Haji Husain, who is also the Deputy Chairman of SAINS, was on hand to launch the system.

MCS, which is deemed as the next generation video conferencing method, is set to greatly improve the way meetings are held, from conventional face-to-face discussion to virtually coming together without actually having to be there physically. As more companies are starting to look at video conferencing as a valuable alternative to the time-consuming meetings in the flesh, the initiation of MCS into the SarawakNet (the State Government Intranet), is very much anticipated.

Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz, who made the initial proposition of the system to be embedded into SarawakNet, wishes for the MCS video conferencing system to become a part of the normal everyday format of meeting for the State’s administration.

During the launching, there was also a live cast of the State Secretary having a video conferencing with Government Officers in various Divisions in the State. The live cast also served as a demo of how the system functions and how it can actually benefit day-to-day administration tasks.
