Sarawak Homestay Programme is now Online

The Sarawak Homestay's website http://www.right.sarawak.gov.my/homestay was launched on 24 July this year at the Sarawak Tourism Complex, Kuching.

The newly launched website was developed by SAINS featuring various homestay venues for the tourist. The website also provides various locations and activities of Sarawak's diverse ethnic villages. Local and international tourists now can book online for their choice of destination features in the website.

According to Ministry of Urban Development and Toursim Sarawak, Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, the internet service is an effective tool now to promote and develop tourism industry in the state.

The homestay website mainly featured small villages for tourist to experience the culture and lifestyle of the people. He also reminded that homestay hosts need to provide good services for the tourist by practicing comfort, warmness and safety in the home. “Treat your guests as part of your family. The satisfied tourists will certainly come back again on their next visit or will recommend their friends to come over to Sarawak,” he advised.

118 villages under the Sarawak Homestay Programme are currently registered with the Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism Sarawak.
