Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, recently joined efforts with SAINS to co-organise a Cisco Roadshow Showcase 2005 with the theme 'Connected, Protected, Collaborative, Productive'.

The Showcase is a technology forum for Cisco customers to gather in an effort to receive the most comprehensive technical training on Cisco products, technologies, services and end-to-end business solutions. It is also the forum to hear first-hand from Cisco executives, the company’s overall vision and strategy for the year and to thank our customers from year to year, for their business and commitment to Cisco.

The full-day conference cum exhibition was attended by more than 200 participants ranging from government officers, Chief Information Officers (CIO), managers and IT executives from private companies, and IT students.

Topics presented at the event were :

• Address by SAINS' Chief Executive Officer, Mr Teo Tien Hiong on the history of networking era in Sarawak. In his adress, Mr Teo also touched on The Computing World Stage, Building SarawakNet as a Strategic E-Government Infrastructure, Services on SarawakNet, and Leveraging Networks for the future.
• 'Convergence with IP Communication' by Cisco Systems Sales Development Manager, Mr Ian Aitken.
• 'The Self-Defending Network: How do I arm myself against new threats?' by Cisco Systems Product Marketing & Business Development Manager, Mr Raymond Chan
• 'Next Generation Workplace' by HP Network Consultant, Mr Then Chee Kiong.

A technology showcase was also featured during the event with networking experts namely Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard, and PANDUIT Corp. exhibiting their latest products and solutions.
