SAINS recently signed an MoU with MoBif Bhd, a renowned maker of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) products. The signing ceremony took place between the CEO of SAINS, Mr Teo Tien Hiong and the CEO of MoBif Bhd, Mr Kevin Leong. The signing was witnessed by the State’s Secretary of Sarawak, YB Datuk Amar Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato’ Haji Husain, who is also the Deputy Chairman of SAINS.

Briefly, VoIP transmits ordinary telephone calls over the Internet which lets users save on call charges. Users, equipped with their VoIP numbers, can make calls through fixed-line phones or mobile phones as long as the VoIP box is connected to the Internet. As such, there will still be great savings as much as 50%, even if the organisation is already operating on discounted calls.

Following the ceremony, invited guests also had an opportunity to hear more about the service joint-offered by SAINS and MoBif.
