| 100 Students Took Part in ICT Camp |

(Borneo Post; November 30, 2007) LIMBANG: A three-day ICT camp, which was concluded yesterday, has benefited 100 students from several secondary schools here as part of the government's efforts to narrow the rural-urban digital divide. RIGHT, a holistic apprach targeted at bridging the urban-rural digital divide on a sustainable basis, involves leveraging the wide range of specialised ICT skills in SAINS, its established Technical Support Units at the divisonal level, as well as the reach of SarawakNet from Kuching all the way down to the sub-district level. The three-day ICT camp was a platform to create awareness among the younger generation on the importance of ICT in their daily life. With a combination of lectures, demonstrations, group case studies and quizzes, students were exposed to ICT tools and software resources. The participating students were from SMK Limbang, SMK Agama Limbang, SMK Kubong, SMK Seri Patiambun and SMK Medamit. SAINS was incorporated in 1991 and has grown to be one of leading system integrators and solution providers in Malaysia with services ranging from IT consultancy, software development, networking, systems engineering, project management, IT training, data conversion, multimedia content development, facility management and operations support.
