KUCHING: KKB Engineering Berhad, a Kuching based public listed company specialised in steel-related business, is suing the integrated Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) that facilitates collaborative commerce.
The ERP system is based on on application solutions by JD Edwards, a leading provider of business software solutions.
The system was initiated as a joint-venture project between SAINS and Sunway Business Applications Sdn Bhd (SBA) and is being implemented in phases.
KKB Group Managing Director Kho Kak Beng officially launched the system on Oct 1 at a ceremony at KKB main office in Bintawa.
"Phase one already saw the successful roll-out of financial, distribution and human resource modules. Future phases will see manufacturing, project management and costing, construction management and asset management," said SAINS in a press statement.
KKB had developed a strong base for steel fabrication and its vast experience and intricate understanding of the industry had allowed it to further expand into other synergistic manufacturing activities, it said.
The system would eventually assist KKB to address it's basic business needs in today's competitive commercial environment.
"Its basic needs are to increase revenues, decrease costs, maximise profitability and optimise assets utilisations," it added.
Meanwhile, KKB Executive Director, Ms Kho Poh Lin said recently the system was to improve the company's internal and external business processes and procedures.
"We hope to fully implement the system eventually in all areas of our Group of companies activities so that we can fully benefit from it and get worthwhile return of investment," she said.
KKB Group Manager (HR & Business Services), Kho Poh Joo who is also the Project Manager claimed that the system ranked amongst the top three in the world.
