Sains optimistic of signing 5,000 VoIP customers by end of the year

KUCHING: Sarawak Information Systems Sdn. Bhd (Sains) is optimistic of signing around 5,000 VoIP customers by the end of the year in collaboration with technology-based company.

MoBif Bhd. and Sains signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday to collaborate in technology, research and development (R&D), and service provision of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP - based) telephony infrastructure and equipment in the Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei Darussalam.

MoBif will provide turnkey implementation of cost-effective telephony solutions, project management and regional systems support and maintenance services to Sains' clientele in the three regions.

These include government agencies, large local corporations and private companies.

The MoU covers the core areas of collaboration such as technology, business and distributorship as well as social and commercial collaboration.

For technology both parties will jointly work closely in R&D and Intellectual Property (IP) of the entire range of systems integration and consultancy services, including VoIP telephony turnkey implementation of mission critical solutions, network infrastructure, project management and regional systems support and maintenance services.

MoBif will provide VoIP telephony solutions for connection among the buildings, offices and government agencies, but not limited to local large corporations particularly Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei Darussalam.

MoBif is also to support and work closely with Sains to promote the usage and application of Malaysia-made ICT solution and telecommunication devices, especially among the government agencies and ministries.

The MoU was signed by Sains Group chief execution officer, Teo Tien Hiong and MoBif CEO Kevin Leong, and was witnessed by State Secretary Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain.

Also present were Silicon Net Technologies Sdn Bhd general manager Teo Loon Tong and MoBif execution director Michael Wong.
