KUCHING: Computer Science students from Inti College Sarawak recently paid a visit to Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (SAINS). The main objective of the visit was to give the students exposure to the working environment of the IT industry.

The students, led by Tay Chung Ang, the Assistant Head of Computing and Engineering of the college were greeted by SAINS Chief Executive Officer, Teo Tien Hiong and the SAINS team.

They were briefed on the organisation, its operations and structure, and the types of ICT solutions, services and facilities provided by SAINS.

Also highlighted were SAINS Geographic Information Systems (GIS) development and its 24-hour Call Centre operation for its customers.

During the visit, Teo emphasised that graduates who are interested in entering the IT industry need to be committed and have the ability to be a team player.

"To create good IT solutions, in most instances, it involved a team. You might need a team of people from various different fields, they could be engineers, programmers, designers or people from many other disciplines to enable the solutions to fit the business world," said Teo.
