Preview & Workshop of Angkasa Version 3

Angkasa v.3 is an upgraded version of the current library management solutions that was implemented in Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (PNS) and other local libraries in the state. As a proud owner of the system, Sains gave a sneak preview of the newest and various value-add features of the product to its faithful users and other prospective customers.

Held in conjunction with PNS' Seminar on IFLA/UNESCO Public Library Service Guidelines the first two days (May 11-12), the workshop were attended by more than 80 librarians from various local councils in the state and library officers from private companies.

The preview proved to be both beneficial and informative as users also sit through a workshop to witness the system firsthand.

The workshop were divided into three parallel sessions as below:

Track I - Technical Services User Group

This Track is for existing users with hands-on experience with one or more of the following:

• Acquisition
• Cataloging
• Serials Management
• Union Catalogue (UC) & OPAC
• Formation of UC Task Force

Track II - Information Services User Group

This Track is for existing users who use ANGKASA to provide services to the members. Modules covered include:

• Member Management
• Circulation
• OPAC and online reservation
• LibraryNet- Inter Library Loan
• Track III - Adopting ANGKASA

This track is open for all librarians and ICT personnel. Topics covered include features of ANGKASA, how to subscribe to ANGKASA, pricing model and so on.
