SAINS and Pustaka Negeri Sarawak recently co-organised a two-day event entitled Angkasa User Group Workshop and Sarawak Union Catalogue Meeting on September 13-14, 2006 respectively at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Kuching.

Through workshop, participants were able to be updated on Angkasa latest features and functions; join discussion on issues and trends pertaining to library and knowledge management; and be in the know on how Angkasa can benefit their organisations. The participants were a mixture of librarians, CIOs, administrative officers and other invited guests from both public and private libraries, special libraries and other knowledge centers in the State.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Union Catalogue Meeting was a closed-group gathering among cataloguers of the Angkasa System. Chaired by Pustaka’s CEO, Puan Rashidah Bolhassan, the meeting discussed current issues of cataloging and latest updates of cataloging data.
