Local Authority Geographic Information System (LAGIS) Inaugural User Workshop

SAINS recently organised the Local Authority Geographical Information System (LAGIS) Inaugural User Workshop 2006 for its users in the Local Authorities.

Briefly, LAGIS is an integrated geospatial application system that offers consistent and standardised business process practices for all the Local Councils within the State. The decision-support quality in LAGIS will enable Local Councils to fully utilise their departmental geospatial data at all level to establish an environment that will benefit both the Council and the public.

Through this workshop, participants learned first-hand about LAGIS and also were given a chance to preview the system up close. In addition, the workshop acted as a venue for discussion and feedback gathering for User Requirement Specifications.
